 Christmas '96

Christmas marked a big turning point in the pregnancy. At 13 weeks the nausea subsided and I was able to eat again. I had lost 13 pounds during the first 3 months, but soon made up for it, plus some. But I was already starting to tire easily so Mark did all of the Christmas shopping, wrapping, and mailing.  I just vegged out in front of the TV and enjoyed eating for the first time in months.  .

We also finally started to tell a few people our big secret.  I didn't want to tell people until the end of the first trimester, just in case.  During early November Mark went back east for a few days to visit his folks and it was so hard to have this big secret and not tell them.  But he had promised, so he didn't. When we finally started telling our folks, at first we just said we were having a baby, and nothing else.  After they had time to get used to that idea, we told them it was three!  It was a very special Christmas. We would sit around and think about how different next Christmas would be.
